This is a beautiful lawyer's bookcase with 3 tiers of shelving refinished in the brushed steel style. It has had the paint removed, and an application put on to give it an even finish, and then it was clearcoated. Any small flaws that were under the paint are part of the brushed look, and are part of the piece's character. The insides of the shelf areas were repainted a neutral color.
